Kurti a Quintessence Of Clothing

 

Kurta is a long piece of clothing, often rectangular that may resemble Arabic clothing popularly known as the Thawb or Thobe. This is mainly worn by men and women across South Asia. An interesting thing about the etymology of the word kurta is not very clear. It could have originated from Sanskrit, Hindi or even Persian which meant a shirt no collar. It has become casual clothing to be worn regularly.

Now, this is a big confusion that most people tend to face. There is no reason to get bewildered as a Kurti is shorter than a kurta. That is correct a kurta usually reaches or goes beyond the calf whereas its shorter version remains confined up to the knees or can also be waist long.
